Stay Motivated with My 5-Week Workout Tracker: A Very Simple System That Works
Logging your workouts doesn’t have to be complicated! In fact, I’ve been using the same simple system since 2007 to stay consistent and motivated, and now I’m sharing it with you. Say hello to my 5-Week Workout Tracker—an easy-to-use, ongoing log that helps you focus on progress, not perfection. In fact, it’s as basic as it gets… no digital tracking, no high pressure apps… a simple print out and daily log of your activity.
With a clear visual of your efforts and goals, this tracker can be a game-changer for your fitness routine. Bonus: I’ve included a free downloadable template so you can start right away!

How It Works:
Set Up Your Tracker
The tracker is a simple 5-week grid with the start date of each week across the top and the days of the week listed down the side. Each square represents one day. Setting up the tracker is easy. Simply, print it out and hang it on the wall, punch holes in it to add into a three ring binder, or keep it digital—whatever works best for you! I’ve been printing mine out since 2007 and hanging them on my fridge. The stack of sheets eventually got to heavy to hang with a magnet so I now punch holes in every page and keep them in a notebook!

Log Your Workouts
- On days you work out, write down what you did in the square (e.g., “30-min run” or “yoga class” or “HIIT workout”).
- On days you don’t work out, simply put an X through the square. No guilt—this is about seeing the big picture!
Tally Your Wins
- At the end of each week, tally up how many workouts you completed.
- After the 5 weeks, total your workouts for the entire period. If you hit 20 workouts or more, celebrate—you’ve done an amazing job!
Why 5 Weeks?
Unlike a monthly calendar, this tracker creates a rolling log of events. It keeps your focus forward, not locked into a rigid timeframe, and helps you stay motivated to build consistency over time.

How It Keeps You Motivated:
- Visual Progress: You can literally see your effort growing week by week.
- Realistic Goals: This isn’t about perfection; it’s about celebrating every step forward.
- Ongoing Momentum: The 5-week structure keeps you in motion, no matter when you start.
