Red and Pink Fashion Inspiration

Custom-made Red and Pink Fashion created especially for LOVE!

Feeling love is the perfect excuse to sew something extra special, custom-made and mixing red and pink.  That’s why I partnered with Benartex to create fashion forward looks from their fabric collections. These projects were inspired by the Romantic Lawn Collection designed by Nicole DeCamp for Benartex.

Instead of buying something new for one day and one night, I wanted to create two outfits I could wear for a special date night, Galentine’s, or any day I feel like spreading a little love. These pieces are approachable to sew, fun to style, and they deliver that instant confidence that comes from wearing something you made with your own hands.

What if you made these looks yourself? I’ve got you covered on how I created both looks, the fabrics I used, the suggested patterns, and simple styling tips so you can recreate the vibe in your own way.

Red and Pink Power Suit - LOVE BUZZ - Bold Red Midi Skirt with cropped Pink Jacket - Designed by JaneClauss.com

Look 1: Sweet, Bold, and a Total Moment

This look is classic Valentine energy with a fashion forward twist. I started by creating a fitted red midi skirt using the bold red fabric.  The silhouette is sleek, clean, and timeless.  This is the kind of piece you can dress up, dress down, and wear long after February 14. Pair it with a simple t-shirt or alternate solid jacket for a new look.

To balance the bold red, I paired it with a cropped jacket using Lovely Scrolls Light Pink fabric from the Romantic Lawn Collection. The light pink and bold red combo is pure Valentine drama in the best way.  Adding my own twist to the original pattern, I cropped the jacket and added a show-stopping oversized heart on the back. The added emeblishment turns this look into a true walk away WOW! Clean lines in the front, then the back is the surprise.

To finish the look, I added a statement rosette brooch made from leftover fabric and styled it with my custom Love Buzz logo sublimated tee. I’ll drop the downloadable PNG file for you here.

Styling Tips for Look 1

If you want this outfit to feel polished and intentional, here are a few easy wins:

  • Keep the shoe sleek. A strappy heel, pointed toe flat, or red ankle boot instantly elevates the midi skirt.
  • Repeat the color story. Choose accessories that echo the pink and red, like the rosette brooch with a touch of red sparkle in the middle or even a simple red lip or pink earrings.  Continuing the color story will pull everything together.
  • Give the jacket even more of a statement scream by added a jeweled patch inside the heart.

  • Brooch placement matters. Pin the rosette slightly off center on the lapel to give it that designer feel.
  • Date night option: add a small clutch and a bold lip.
  • Daytime option: swap heels for white sneakers and wear the jacket open over the tee.

Red and Pink Romantic Palazzo Pants with Cropped Shirt - Designed by JaneClauss.com - for Benartex

Look 2: Modern Romance in Red and Pink

This second look gives us modern romance with movement, comfort, and a playful handmade detail. First I sewed a high-waisted wide leg pants using Garden of Romance from the Romantic Lawn Collection. The print is rich and romantic, and the wide leg silhouette is flattering and easy to wear. These are the pants you reach for when you want to look dressed up but still feel like yourself. I modified the patterned a bit by removing the waistband and adding a zipper to the back.

I paired them with a cropped, back zip black top made from Superior Silky Solids. Then I added a Valentine touch with appliquéd hearts on the sleeve using leftover Romantic Lawn fabric scraps, plus the front and back of the shirt. It’s subtle from a distance, but up close it’s such a sweet surprise and makes the top feel truly custom. If you have an embroidery machine to do appliqué, you can use this downloadable heart design.

To tie it all together, I finished the look with a one-of-a-kind, custom shoulder bag using Garden of Romance for the outer stripe and used Lovely Scrolls Light Pink fabric from

the first look for the lining. Now that’s a sweet surprise!

Styling Tips for Look 2

This look is incredibly versatile. Here are a few ways to style it depending on your vibe:

  • Let the pants lead. Keep the top simple so the pants stay the hero.
  • Choose a solid shoe. Black heels, ankle boots, or even a sleek loafer keeps it modern and wearable.
  • Add a layer for night. Throw on a cropped black blazer, a leather jacket, or embroidered jean jacket for instant edge.
  • Make the hearts pop or whisper. Use tonal hearts for subtle texture, or contrast hearts in pinks and reds if you want them to stand out.
  • Accessory trick: match your bag lining to a hair accessory or your shoes for that “pulled together” detail people notice.

Why I Loved Mixing Red and Pink to Create These Looks…

It was fun to design, easy to sew, exciting to style, and made to show off. That’s the magic of a great fabric collection. When the prints and solids play well together, you can create pieces that look high end but feel totally doable.

If you love the idea of wearing something you made, Romantic Lawn is a beautiful place to start. These are confidence-boosting projects that feel polished, playful, and completely wearable.
