Bright Ideas to Jumpstart Your Creative Energy

Ever feel like your creative energy is just stuck? Like your brain waves are on pause and not even a double espresso can reboot them? That’s okay. It happens to all of us. Whether you’re a full-time maker or a weekend dabbler, we all hit those moments when the motivation is lacking. But don’t worry, your creativity didn’t disappear, it just needs a little boost. Sometimes, the best way to reignite that spark is to think like a kid again. Open your mind, let go of the rules, and give yourself permission to play. Because creativity isn’t about perfection, it’s about curiosity, messiness, and joy. So let’s shake things up! Here are Jane’s five easy ways to jumpstart your creative energy:

1- Shake up your space

You don’t need a full makeover, just a few small changes can do wonders. Clear off your table. Vacuum the floor! Hang up a piece of art that makes you smile. When your space feels fresh, your ideas start to feel fresh too.

2 – Do a 15-minute freestyle project

Set a gentle timer and make something. Anything. No plan, no pressure. Just create. Grab what you love, anything that is out and nearby. It can be craps, glue, glitter, and go for it. You might surprise yourself with what shows up.

3- Try a new technique

Been eyeing something on Pinterest or TikTok that looks fun? Try it! Learning something new gets your brain out of autopilot and into curiosity mode. Whether it works or not doesn’t matter because it’s the doing that counts.

4- Revisit an old project

Oh you know those half-finished projects laying on tables or hiding in a drawer? Pull it out. Give it another look. Maybe you finish it, maybe you completely remix it, or maybe it inspires something brand new. Plus, you’ll feel better that it’s complete and off your “to-do” pile.

5- Make it mini

Big projects can feel like a lot. So go small. A mini painting. A tiny embroidery. A quick little DIY just for fun. Small wins can bring big energy.

Bottom line and biggest takeaway…. your creative energy isn’t gone. It just needs a little attention. So pick one of these ideas, try it out, and see where it takes you. And if you do create something, I want to see it! Tag me on IG @JaneMonzuresClauss so I can cheer you on.
