6 Creative Pancakes Recipes

Make these 6 Creative Pancakes Recipes

When it comes to pancakes a little creativity can go a long way. Here are six pancake recipes for you to try at home:

1. Good Old-Fashioned pancakes

This is the pancake recipe you’ll find in your grandma’s recipe book. Made with the time-tested ingredients that everyone loves; flour, baking powder, sugar, milk, an egg, a pinch of salt and butter. Top ‘em with Maple Syrup and it’s always a winner!

2. Greek Style pancakes

From the kitchen of a good Greek girl, there has to be a pancake with some Greek flare. Using your traditional ingredients, add a little cinnamon to the batter. When the pancakes are ready, top them off with butter, crumbled walnuts and warm honey. Opa!

3. Healthy pancakes

Pancakes are an indulgence, but you can still make them healthier by swapping out a few ingredients. Use quick cooking oats and egg whites to create the batter, cook them in a pan until they are set and then top off with fresh blueberry jam.

4. Animal Shaped pancakes

Using various sizes while cooking pancakes, you can make almost any animal shape. The larger round portion for the head, a small circle for the nose and small oval shaped pancakes for the ears or two round shapes merged together to make the body and decorate with fruit. Try making a bird, cat, lion or pig to put a smile on your kid’s face.

5. Peanut Butter pancakes

Peanut butter is a favorite flavor for so many people. Simply whisk in a smooth mixture of part peanut butter, part water blend to your traditional pancake ingredients and top with your favorite syrup. That is peanut buttery good!

6. Lemon Buttermilk pancakes

Lemons can add a bright flavor and good health benefits to almost any recipe; and that includes pancakes. Add ¼ cup of lemon juice and a tablespoon of lemon zest to your traditional pancake recipe, cook like normal and you have a citrusy delight! Serve with sausage and syrup enjoy the sweet and savory.

HAPPY 100th Anniversary to the legendary @wgnradio The radio station was always playing at my house growing up… mom would listen every night on her transistor radio when she was sewing or doing laundry… and Dad always had it tuned-in in the car. There was never a day that we weren’t listening to the personalities that made it so great.
And then to actually be on the air at WGN 720 was always so surreal to me.
I am honored and blessed to have been a very very small part of 100 years. 💙💙💙 To those who made it happen, thank you. Long live radio!!
