It’s mid year and time to check in on our 2022 trending paint colors and palettes we love so far.
You made it halfway thru 2022 and what have you got to show for it, a new coat of paint on your walls? Well, experts say lots of people are changing the colors of their wall this year because it’s less expensive and faster to paint your walls than to buy new furniture, and wait weeks, sometimes months for it to arrive. So the team at janeclauss.com did the research to give you the trending paint colors for a “Jane Clauss in the House” mid-year update.
Farmhouse
It’s no surprise the farmhouse trend is hanging on. People love the easy, casual feel the look gives. To achieve the look, stick with neutral tones like whites, greys, beiges, and blues. Think about keeping the walls light using a lighter Farmhouse tone and add in a subtle hue of color by including the greys and blues to accent your home decor. The idea of Farmhouse chich may not be at trend at all because of it’s simple, practical and comfortable charm. This color palette is here to stay.
Sage green
Being the “color of the year”, sage green is holding on strong. The idea of taking a nature bath by submerging yourself in greens can easily be transcended to inside the home too. This tranquil color is a great way to given the home a sense of calm and serenity. You can pair it with other colors and finished like taupe, purple, gold, raspberry and grey-blues. Sage green can be a light gray-green or dark gray-green color. A person who is considered sage is often times wise experienced and has good judgment.
Greige (grey and beige)
It’s no “Benifer 2.0” but a new word born this year is “Greige”. It’s a combo of grey and beige. The addition of gray to beige creates a richer color, one that can work in both cool and warm color schemes. Greige is gray that has been warmed with beige undertones so the result is elegance of gray, without the cold blue undertones. We like this trend because it’s in-line with your typical grey theme but gives the look a more welcoming feel.
Lake house inspired
People are yearning for calm and the idea of a sea of blues filling your home is filling the bill. While we are all spending more and more time at home, we want to fill our spaces with cool, relaxing vibes as if you were spending everyday on vacation. Lake House inspired is a collection of blues ranging from sky blue to sailor blue to ocean blue with a clean look and some antique finds your lake house inspired look can take you oceans away.
Warm rustic browns
This family of colors make great accent walls or can be added as a splash of color to any room as upholstery, pillows and window coverings. Feel the warmth of this collection with cozy brown, burnt orange, charcoal black, rustic red, grenadier, sandy brown, copper, burgundy, and deep purple. This palette seems like it fits best with an autmnal theme but it can be used in a dedicated room that will give you a hug every time you walk in.
