Your digital expressions can say more than words. Bring them to life and add some expression to your home decor by crafting these easy DIY emoji pillows! They can make a great, personal gift for a kid’s birthday party and are super easy to make.

Supplies
Yellow fleece fabric
Assorted colored felt
Polly filled stuffing
Straight pins
Scissors
A sewing machine
First, lay the fleece out and cut it.
Start by laying out the fleece so that it is double sided and cut out a twenty-inch circle. Lay a large bowl face down on the fleece and trace around it to make the outline of the circle. After marking it, cut out the fleece.
Next, draw on some facial expressions
This is the fun part! Draw some facial expressions on the fabric, and get creative. You could cut out heart’s to use as heart eyes, use the blue felt to cut out tears for a crying, laughing face, or a heart to be used in a kissy face. The options are endless, just pick out your favorite emoji. Have your kids help draw, trace, and cut out the felt pieces.
Then, lay the felt pieces out.
After cutting out the felt pieces, lay them out on the yellow fleece and pin them into place.

Start sewing the felt pieces on.
Using your sewing machine, sew the felt pieces into place.

Arrange the circles and sew.
Put the two circles over the top of one another and pin them into place around the edges. Then, sew around the edges of the pillow but leave a big enough opening in order to stuff the pillow full of stuffing.
Finally, add the stuffing and sew the opening shut.
Using the small opening left in the pillow, add the stuffing until it’s nice and fluffy. Finally, pin the opening closed and hand stitch it back together. There you have, a real life emoji!

Make several emoji pillows with different expressions to show what your current mood is. Emoji pillows would be perfect to add expression to your living room or even add it to your kid’s room to give them some fun decorations!
