Upcycle a picture frame as decor for your next party!
Use this as a table-top decor showpiece for your next party or even as a nice handmade gift. Just get busy and make it yourself! Follow these simple steps to make a DIY picture frame serving tray.
You will need an old frame, fabric scraps, pinking shears, drawer handles, an electric drill, and a screwdriver for this simple DIY project.
1-Disassemble the frame
To start, take apart the frame and remove the photo, matte backings, and glass. Be sure to clean the glass well before continuing. Throw the photo away or upcycle it for another DIY project!
2-Cut the fabric
Next, use your pinking shears and cut a piece of fabric just a bit larger than the matte that was removed from the frame and set it aside.
3-Measure where the handles will go
Measure the sides of the frame where the handles will be placed and drill pilot holes. Screw the handles into both sides of the frame.
4- Secure the fabric
Finally, lay the fabric over the top and then secure the matte backins again.
This is a great and simple way to give new life to an old frame that can spice up any dinner party, table, or even can be a thoughtful homemade gift.
