Recycle Paper Towel Rolls to Create Beautiful Christmas Tree Wall Art
Reuse those empty paper towel rolls to create a festive holiday wall hanging! An easy DIY to do while you’re waiting for Santa to come, and a great project for the kid’s to help with! All you need is paint, scissors, glue and a little imagination. It’s time to get your Ho-Ho-HOLIDAYS on while you make this paper towel tree art!
1-Cut the paper towel rolls
First cut your paper towel roll length ways to create two halves. You will need about four to six paper towel rolls to complete the project.
2-Paint the roll
Paint the inside of the roll green and once that’s dry paint the outside. You will only need to paint about ¾ of the way of the paper towel roll.
3-Cut the paper towel roll
When the paint is dry, cut the roll into little strips that will be used as the fir of the Christmas tree.
4-Prep the canvas
Next sketch out the shape of a Christmas tree on the canvas and pain the canvas whatever color you would like the background to be.
5-Glue the pieces onto the canvas
With hot glue, glue on the paper towel roll pieces. Use different colored greens to give some dimension to the artwork.
6-Add embellishments to complete the look
Add some garland, ornaments, and a star on top of the tree to make a super festive look. You can use actual ornaments, beads, buttons, or jewels to serve as the ornaments. Use garland to string on the tree to elevate the look. Finish it with a star to complete the look!
