Things can get a little overwhelming at home, so it’s probably time to make this clever double sided sign to show who the “go to” parent of the moment is in your household. You can have the kids make it or you can make it for someone you know who really needs it! Loads of creativity can be used to make your own so grab some scissors, glue, markers, pens or even an embroidery machine and make an on duty sign for mom and dad.

Make the artwork
The kids can help out with this project by doing the artwork. They can paint, draw, or color the signs. If you’re the one doing the making, you can use an iron on transfer sheet or use your embroidery machine to make a design on fabric.
Cover the canvas
Next, stretch the fabric around the canvas to cover it. Use the staple gun to secure it into place and make one for each mom and dad.
Get creative and use embellishments that describe mom and dad’s personalities. You can add a crown next to mom and dad to create the theme of king and queen. Add sports, flowers, gemstones, you name it. Whatever fits their personality best! Jane used paper flowers, gemstones, cardstock gold stars, and crowns to give the king and queen theme.
Glue the two canvases together
After the decor is added onto the canvases, glue them together to make them double sided.
Put them on a little easel where the kids can easily see them and show whether or not it’s mom’s turn or dad’s turn. This is a super easy project and can make things at home seem a little less overwhelming.
