International Name that Flag Game

The Olympics make a great occasion to host a watch party. This super easy DIY name that flag game will test everyone’s knowledge and is great for friendly competition. Maybe you’ll even win a gold medal! You will be surprised at how much you end up learning, and how much you already know.

Supplies:

String of decorative flags

Large piece of foam core board

Extra piece of foam core board for cutting

Cardstock

Twelve Wall Hooks

Hole punch

Sticky Back Velcro

First, cut the flags from the strings.

Start by cutting the flags into individual pieces. Cut the string that is holding the flags together and make them their own individual piece.

Next, use the cardstock to mount the flags.

Mount each flag onto the cardstock by using glue or tape. Punch a hole into the top center of the flag.

Then, print the names of the countries

Next, type the name of each country and print them out. Using the smaller pieces of the foam core board, glue them so they are secure.

Use a tape measure to measure the larger board.

Using a tape measure, see how many flags will fit across and down on the board. In this case, Jane is doing three rows of four.

Then, attach the wall hangers.

Next stick the wall hangers where the top of the flag will go and then use Velcro above where the flag will be. Hang each of the flags on the hooks.

Finally, have fun!

Now is the fun party, play the game! To play, each person will take a turn hanging the proper flag to coincide with its country. Whoever gets the most wins a gold medal!
