Share love that lasts more than just one day with heartfelt homemade decorations! This Valentine’s Day make your own “hanging hearts” chandelier decor for a simply festive, easy way to celebrate! You’ll need pink, red and patterned card stock, bakers twine, glue stick, (2) different sized heart shape cut-outs, scissors, red or black markers or use your printer and laser foil, and a hole punch.
To start, write or print loving sentiments on colored paper. You can do two columns of different sentiments to maximize your paper space. I like to use one to two word sentiments like; Love you, Your Mine, Kisses, Love, Hugs, Be Mine, My Love, Happy… just to give a few ideas.
Using your heart shape cut-out (you can create a heart shape patterned by drawing your own heart freehand or by tracing around a cookie cutter, or you can use a die cut machine for the perfect heart), cut out around the printed sentiments using the smaller sized heart.
Next, cut several larger hearts and glue a small heart sentiment on both sides of the larger hearts.
Punch a whole in the top and bottom of each large heart, tie the decorative string thru the holes to connect and hang form your light fixture or chandelier. There you have it, LOVE is in the air with these hanging hearts.
It’s perfect addition to hang over your kitchen table, in front of your bathroom mirror or bring them to your school room for this happy hearts day.
