Eco-friendly personalized napkins are just as beautiful as they are useful!
Make your table decor to look as delicious as the food tastes when you add these personalized napkins to the tablescape. This beginner sewing project is great way to kick-start your sewing skills and explode your hostess cred. Let’s make it!
Supplies:
- Sewing and Embroidery Machine
- Coordinating Cotton Fabric
- Scissors
- Straight edge and rotary cutter
- Pins
- Iron
Make it:
To start, prep the fabric by washing, drying and ironing it.
Next, I want to create large napkins for optima usage so cut (2) 20“ x 20“ squares. One piece for the front and one piece for the back.
Before sewing the two sides together, add a personalized touch to each of them.
For my party, I am embroidering the names of my guests along with a greek key image on the corners of every napkin.
What I love about this idea is, they will not only serve as napkins but the napkins will also be name place settings and personalized take home favors.
Once I’ve embroidered all the names with a logo on the blue sides of the fabric, it’s the time to sew them together.
With the right sides together, sew all the way around leaving a 4 inch opening.
Turn the material right side out and turn the open edge in. Press and pin.
For the finishing touch, use the decorative stitches on your machine, pick your fav, and give it a narrow edge top-stitch all the way around to finish the napkin.
And there you have it, eco-friendly, personalized napkins for every guest at your party!
What a great way to add a personal touch to your tablescape and make your guests feel extra special. And since they’re taking them home as a keepsake, you don’t even have to do the laundry!
