There’s nothing better than a good old fashion hand car wash! And you can make the most of it with these creative DIY car wash mitts made from an old robe.
You’ll need: dad’s old robe, knitted cuffs that you can get at any fabric store, scissors, pins and a sewing machine.
First, cut the rope into large squares of fabric so you have an easy surface to work from. Set aside.
Using the back side of Christmas wrapping paper because that’s a great alternate use for this stuff that sits around most of the year…. Draw the shape of a large sized mitten to create a pattern and cut it out.
Next, fold the bathrobe fabric in half, pin the pattern on the material and cut it out. Now do the
same for a second mitt.
Sew two of the cut outs together around the top of the mitt.
Turn the mitt inside out and add the knit cuff over the top of the mitt. Pin in place with right sides and edges together and sew around the opening.
Turn out the cuff right side out and you’re done.
