DIY Trendy Micro Purse!

Among the top 100 fashion trends to watch is the micro purse. This DIY is a great way to repurpose old jeans that you have laying around, and gives a super cute result. Micro purses may be small is size but big in style!

Supplies
Upholstery fabric
Denim
A pair of Kai 7000 shears
An old purse strap or fabric scraps
A zipper
Sewing machine

Cut your fabric pieces
First use Kai shears and cut two pieces of fabric about 10.5 x 8.5 inches big. Cut one piece of denim and one piece of fabric for both sides of the purse.

Cut the fringe
Next, cut the bottom of the denim into pieces of fringe. Each piece should be about four inches long. To create a more fringey, distressed look, wet the denim and throw it in the dryer. This will give a nice, distressed look to the purse and will give it an extra pop.

Add the zipper
You have the option of adding either a zipper, buckle, or snap to use to close the purse. In this case, a zipper is being added to close the purse.

Sew the purse together
Next, sew the sides of the fabric together and then turn it right side out. With the fringe facing downward, turn the bottom edge of the fancy fabric under and top stitch it down.

Sew on the handle
Repurpose an old purse handle from one you have lying around, or go pick one from the thrift store! You can also use old fabric scraps.

And there you have it, a perfect micro purse for all of your essentials! This DIY micro purse is a super easy way to repurpose old denim scraps while creating a new, trendy fashion statement. You might only be able to fit the essentials, but this proves that smaller is actually better!
