A Simple Sew it Yourself Bling Cuff Bracelet

With a few easy steps you can add a little bling to your everyday look with this easy to create cuff bracelet.  Your fashion game just scored BIG!

You’ll need:  twill fabric in whatever color you want (I usually use black), fusible interfacing, hook and lock fastener, a sewing machine, pressing cloth, fusible sheet of gems, scissors and a measuring tape.

First, measure out a rectangle 6″ x 91/4″. You may need to adjust the length to fit your wrist. This width makes a 2 1/2″  thick cuff. Measure the same size fusible interfacing and iron the interfacing on to then wrong side of the fabric.

You can serge the raw edges, if you want. If you don’t have a serger you can zig zag the edges or leave them raw; they get folded in anyway but a clean edge is always easy to work with.

Fold the fabric in half lengthwise with the wrong sides facing each other and press to create a fold.

Next, turn the fold with the right sides facing each other and sew the two short sides. Clip the corners so it is not too bulky when you turn it right sides out.

Now, turn the fabric right side out and turn the raw edge on the long side in and press. Top stitch all the way around. Press again.

Cut a piece of hook and lock fastener to fit the width; this size is about 2 1/2″ x 2″ long. Sew one of the hook and lock pieces to the inside of the cuff and sew one on the opposite end, on the outside of the cuff. Make sure the two fasten together when wrapped around the wrist.

Cut a piece of the adhesive gem sheet to fit the outside of the cuff – measure to get the proper size — for this size cuff it is approximately 7″ x  2 1/2″ . Lay the fusible gem piece on the cuff, cover it all with a pressing cloth and iron-on.  Hold it in place for about :40 and let it cool before peeling the pressing cloth away. It’s best to follow the directions on the adhesive sheet for this process.

There you go, a one-of-a-kind cuff bracelet that truly makes a statement in your wardrobe! Plus, you can say you made it!
