1) UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS REFASHIONED

After last year’s ugly christmas sweater debut, give it a new life this year and upcraft it into a festive pillow cover. It’s easy, cut the sweater into a square that fits a pillow form.

Stitch up 3 sides leaving the waistline open so it will slip over your pillow. If you can’t sew ask a neighbor or your seamstress to do it. You can even use Liquid Stitch or safety pins if all else fails! It’s a perfect addition to your holiday home decor.

2) A NECK TIE’S DASHING NEW LIFE

Now, does dad have a few extra ties lying around? Let’s give them a new way to collect spilt gravy and make a holiday table runner. All you need are red & green ties and then sew them together lengthwise. Easy! A new table runner perfect for the next family gathering.

3) YULETIDE CHEERS WITH WINE GLASS SLIPPERS

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas but if that runs out you’ll drink the red? Well, then don’t leave your wineglasses undressed. Create wine glass slippers out of your favorite holiday fabric and felt. Cut 3 circles the size of the base of your stemware, fold two the Christmas fabric circles in half and line the round edges against the round edges of the felt so that the fold is in the middle. Sew around the edge of the circle. Turn inside out and slip it on your wine glass. And the best part, you can make them all different so everyone know which glass is theirs! Cheers!

4) A HOSTESS GIFT FOR THE NAUGHTY AND NICE

We know the holidays are for gift giving, party going, and cookie eating so if you have a ton of places to go to this season don’t show up empty-handed…
Bring a smart hostess gift a with a touch of diy and you’ll definitely be invited back. A great idea is to repurpose an old glass jar – decorate it like santa using felt and googly eyes – and fill it with candy.

Or if you are bringing a bottle, make your own wine sleeve using an old pair of jeans and an easy iron-on image.

5) GIFT WRAPPED IN YOUR FAVORITE TEAM SPIRIT

One of the best parts of about the holidays is decorating your door with a festive christmas wreath but this year, let’s get sporty, for the baseball lover in the family, make a wreath using ball caps. You don’t event have to cut the caps just pin them on to a foam circle…. And the best part, if the team goes on run the ball caps can still be worn!

6) WELL READ HOLIDAY HOME DECOR

Book folding is very on trend right now so, a quick and a easy home decor project is to fold a book into a Christmas tree shape, add a repurposed candlestick for the base – it’s a great way to give old candle sticks a new life, a cabinet door knob for the top – you can get those at the home improvement store, and a few buttons as ornaments. It is the perfect table topper and your old books are well read as a holiday home decor.

7) ROCKING AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH OLD CDS MAKING NEW MUSIC

CDs are so 10 years ago but don’t throw them away yet. When it comes to decorating, you can personalize your tree with up crafted CD ornaments. Using spray glue, cover them with felt on one side and a photo on the other, add on some embellishments to them and your personalized ornament is ready for the tree. Or even makes a great gift.

8)THE CROWN JEWELS ARE MERRY AND BRIGHT WITH HOLIDAY ART

And finally, if you like a little bling with your holiday fling, repurpose those old brooches into a velvet Christmas tree wall hanging. A holiday wall hanging fit for the queen.
